Repairing Your Lock

A lock can fail in many ways: the key sticks or won't turn all the way; a key breaks off inside; the lock is loose or sagging on the door; or the bolt doesn't throw properly. We diagnose the problem and repair it if we can. If the lock is too damaged, we'll replace it.

If a key has broken off inside, we'll carefully remove it without damaging the lock. Sticking keys often mean the lock needs cleaning and lubrication, or the pins are worn. A loose lock usually just needs adjustment or new screws.

Bring your ID with your address when we arrive. If we can't repair the lock, we'll explain why and give you the cost to replace it. Many repairs are quick and don't cost much, so it's worth trying before you buy a new lock.
